Kids Years New Perspective: An American Family in Paris
Moving to Paris with young kids was a big decision for our family. We had always dreamed of living abroad, and Paris seemed like the perfect place to raise a family. The city is beautiful, the culture is rich, and there are so many opportunities for kids to learn and grow.
We were excited to immerse our kids in French culture, and we were confident that they would thrive in the city's international environment. However, we also knew that there would be some challenges along the way. We would have to adjust to a new language, a new culture, and a new way of life.

We are now two years into our adventure, and we are so glad that we made the move. Our kids are thriving in Paris. They are learning French, making new friends, and experiencing all that the city has to offer.
Of course, there have been some challenges along the way. We have had to adjust to a new language, a new culture, and a new way of life. But we have also learned so much about ourselves and our family. We have become more open-minded, more adaptable, and more resilient.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to live in Paris with our kids. It is an experience that we will cherish forever.
Here are some of the things that we have learned about raising kids in Paris:
- French kids are very independent. They are used to taking care of themselves, and they are not afraid to explore their surroundings. This is a great quality to have, and it has helped our kids to become more confident and self-reliant.
- French schools are very rigorous. The academic standards are high, and the kids are expected to work hard. This can be a challenge, but it has also helped our kids to develop strong academic skills.
- Paris is a great place to raise kids. The city is full of parks, museums, and other activities that are perfect for kids. There is also a strong sense of community, and we have met some wonderful people who have helped us to adjust to life in Paris.
Here are some tips for raising kids in Paris:
- Be patient. It takes time to adjust to a new language, a new culture, and a new way of life. Don't get discouraged if you don't see results immediately.
- Be open-minded. There are many different ways to raise kids, and there is no one right way. Be willing to try new things and see what works best for your family.
- Be involved. The best way to help your kids adjust to life in Paris is to be involved in their lives. Go to their school events, take them to the park, and help them to learn about French culture.
- Make friends. Having a support network of friends and family is essential for raising kids in Paris. Find other families who are going through the same experience, and share your tips and advice.
Raising kids in Paris is an amazing experience. It is a challenge, but it is also a rewarding one. We are so glad that we made the move, and we encourage other families to consider ng the same.
