Ronald Malfi's December Park is a gripping tale of love, loss, and the supernatural. Set in the eerie and evocative landscape of a deserted amusement park, the novel follows the story of a group of friends who return to the site of their childhood memories only to find themselves haunted by the ghosts of their past.
The novel opens with the of our four main characters: Jack, Sarah, Billy, and Emily. Jack is the leader of the group, a charismatic and reckless young man who is always looking for a good time. Sarah is Jack's girlfriend, a sweet and caring woman who is always trying to keep Jack out of trouble. Billy is the group's resident skeptic, a cynical and sarcastic young man who doesn't believe in anything he can't see. Emily is the group's peacemaker, a quiet and gentle young woman who always tries to see the best in everyone.
The four friends have been planning this trip to December Park for months. They all have fond memories of the amusement park from their childhood, and they're excited to relive those memories together. However, when they arrive at the park, they quickly realize that something is wrong.
The park is deserted and overgrown, and there's a strange feeling in the air. The friends soon begin to experience strange and unexplained events. They hear voices when no one is around, they see shadows moving out of the corner of their eyes, and they feel like they're being watched.
As the friends explore the park, they learn more about its dark history. December Park was once a thriving amusement park, but it was abandoned after a tragic accident that killed several children. The friends soon realize that the ghosts of those children are still haunting the park, and they're not happy to have visitors.
The friends are soon forced to confront their own fears and demons as they try to survive the night in December Park. Jack must come to terms with his reckless behavior, Sarah must face her fears of abandonment, Billy must overcome his skepticism, and Emily must find the strength to stand up for herself.
December Park is a well-written and suspenseful horror novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Malfi does an excellent job of creating a creepy and atmospheric setting, and his characters are well-developed and relatable. The novel's exploration of themes such as love, loss, and friendship adds depth and resonance to the story.
If you're a fan of horror fiction, then you should definitely check out December Park. It's a well-written and suspenseful novel that will keep you entertained from beginning to end.
