Along the way, they encounter a variety of strange and wonderful creatures, including the Quirm, the Ephebe, and the Shuffling Men. The novel is full of humor, adventure, and Pratchett's trademark wit.

Plot

The novel begins with Rincewind, Twoflower, and the Luggage being shipwrecked on the shores of the last unexplored continent of Discworld. They are quickly captured by the Quirm, a tribe of warlike natives. The Quirm are planning to sacrifice Rincewind and Twoflower to their god, but they are interrupted by the arrival of the Ephebe, a race of beautiful and immortal beings.

The Ephebe take Rincewind, Twoflower, and the Luggage to their city, where they are treated as guests. However, Rincewind soon learns that the Ephebe are not as benevolent as they seem. They are planning to use Rincewind's magic to conquer the world.

Rincewind, Twoflower, and the Luggage must escape from the Ephebe and return to Ankh-Morpork. However, they are pursued by the Shuffling Men, a race of undead creatures that are controlled by the Ephebe. Rincewind, Twoflower, and the Luggage must use all of their wits and skills to survive and make it back to Ankh-Morpork.
